Financial aid is a source of monetary support in the form of grants, employment and loans for the specific purpose of meeting student's educational costs. Financial Aid funds can be federal, state, institutional or from private sources.
All students must apply or reapply yearly for Financial Aid. To ensure aid is processed on time, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) . The HCAS Federal School Code is 042517.
Financial Aid can be either gift aid or self-help aid. Gift Aid can be in the form of grants or scholarships. Self-help aid can be part-time employment or student loans which are required to be repaid with interest.The designated links will supply you additional information regarding enrollment requirements and/or additional criteria on eligibility.
Attending in Fall (August 2016)? Renew your FAFSA now! Completing the 2016-2017 FAFSA as soon as possible will give the Financial Aid Office enough time to process you ahead of your Fall term due date for payment, and you may even receive some additional funding (if eligible).
Attending in Summer (May 2016)? If you have already completed your FAFSA and have been awarded for Fall and Spring, and have attended less than 12 or more credits for Fall and/or Spring, you may have aid available to you for Summer. (This is generally true in the case of the Federal Pell Grant. If you are loan eligible only and attended both Fall and Spring at least half-time you may have already received your maximum loan amount for the academic year.) Haven't applied yet? Complete your FAFSA now! The deadline to apply for Summer is June 30, 2016. Even if you are eligible and attending we will not be able to offer you aid unless you get your FAFSA in prior to the deadline date.
